Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Paid plans renew every month until you cancel. Canceling takes effect at the end of the month you paid for. Payments go through Link, which sends your receipts. Refunds follow Link's policies and the law. Your videos stay yours and are deleted after delivery. This summary is not a substitute for the terms below.
1. About these terms
Video Speeder is provided by Cloudit Software Solutions Ltd (company no. 15617138, 67 Knightly Avenue, Cambridge, CB2 0AN, United Kingdom), trading as ObliqueX ("ObliqueX", "we", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and us about Video Speeder (the "App"), an app for Canva. By using the App or buying a plan, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the App for an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to.
2. What the App does
The App speeds up a video in your Canva design by 2x to 50x, optionally in reverse, and puts the sped up version in your design. The video is processed on our servers. What you can do depends on your plan: the number of videos per month, the length of the video and of the result, the quality options, reverse playback and how many videos can be processed at once. The current plans and limits are shown in the App and on the Video Speeder page.
3. Access through Canva
- You use the App with your Canva account. There is no separate Video Speeder account. Your use of Canva is governed by Canva's own terms.
- Your plan, usage and extra videos belong to the combination of your Canva user and the Canva team in which you use the App. They do not move to another Canva user or another team, and you cannot transfer, sell or share them.
- To buy a plan you must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live, or have a parent's or guardian's permission.
4. Plans, prices and renewal
- The Free plan includes 1 video per calendar month (UTC) and allows up to 10 failed attempts per month.
- Paid plans (Starter, Pro and Max) are monthly subscriptions. They renew automatically at the end of each monthly period and the plan price is charged each time, until you cancel.
- Prices are in US dollars and include tax. Checkout may show the amount in your local currency. Your bank may charge its own fees.
- Monthly videos that you do not use do not carry over to the next period.
- We may change prices or plan limits. A price change for an existing subscription applies from a renewal at least 30 days after we tell you about it, and you can cancel before it applies. A change in your favor can apply at once.
- A Business plan is available by agreement; write to videospeeder@obliquex.com. These Terms apply to it unless we agree otherwise in writing.
5. Payments through Link
Paid plans and extra videos are paid through Stripe's Managed Payments service. For these purchases Link (Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe company) is the merchant of record: the purchase is shown as "Sold through Link", and Link's terms for these purchases apply in addition to these Terms. Link sends receipts, invoices, refund confirmations and subscription emails, and your bank statement shows LINK.COM followed by our name. Checkout shows our business name as "ObliqueX". Stripe and its affiliates process the payments. A Link account may be needed for a subscription. We never receive your card details.
Questions about the App itself go to us, not to Link: Link does not provide product support.
6. Upgrading, downgrading and canceling
- Upgrade: takes effect immediately. A new monthly period starts that day with the full allowance of the new plan, the unused part of your current plan is credited, and the difference is charged at once. The App shows the amount before you confirm. If the payment fails, your plan does not change.
- Downgrade: takes effect at the end of your current period. Until then you keep your current plan.
- Cancel: takes effect at the end of your current period; your plan works until then, and you then move to the Free plan. You can cancel in the App (Manage Video Speeder subscription), in the payment portal reached from Payment method and invoices, or from your Link account at link.com.
- Removing the App from Canva cancels a paid subscription at the end of the current period.
7. Extra videos
- Extra videos are sold in packs of 10 and can be bought only while you have an active paid subscription.
- They are used after your monthly videos run out, one per video, with the limits of your current plan.
- They can be used only while your subscription is active and paid. While a payment is outstanding they are locked. When your subscription ends they are frozen; if you subscribe again within 12 months of the end they work again, and after 12 months they are deleted.
- Extra videos have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be transferred.
8. When a video counts
- A video uses one from your allowance only when it is processed successfully. A video that fails does not count.
- If you cancel a video before processing starts, it does not count. If you cancel it after processing has started, it counts as used.
- Starting the same video again counts again, even if it was sped up before.
9. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, the payment is retried over the following days and you are told by email. Until the payment goes through you cannot process videos, not even within the Free allowance, and your extra videos are locked. If the last retry also fails, the subscription ends and you move to the Free plan.
10. Refunds and cancellation rights
Refunds are given in accordance with Link's refund policies for purchases sold through Link and with the law that applies to you. Apart from those, we do not offer refunds, including for unused videos, unused extra videos, a partial month, a downgrade or a cancellation.
If you are a consumer, you may have a right to cancel a purchase within 14 days under the law where you live and under Link's terms. Requests to cancel a purchase or for a refund are handled through Link's support for purchases sold through Link. Nothing in these Terms limits that right.
11. Deleting your data
You can delete your data in the App at any time (Delete my Video Speeder data). If you have an active subscription, it ends immediately and your remaining videos and extra videos are lost. No refund is given for the rest of the period, except as section 10 provides. Payment records stay with Stripe and Link as the law requires.
12. Your videos
- You keep all rights to the videos you process. You give us only the permission we need to download, process, store temporarily and return them to Canva for you.
- We process your videos only to provide the App. The source video is deleted right after processing, and the result as soon as it is added to your design, or after 60 minutes at the latest. We do not keep copies, so keep your original.
- You are responsible for your videos. You confirm that you own them or have every right needed to use and modify them, and that processing them does not break any law or anyone's rights.
13. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- process content that is illegal, sexually exploits minors, infringes others' rights, or breaks Canva's acceptable use rules;
- get around plan limits, the Free allowance or the misuse protections, for example by creating accounts or teams to get more free videos;
- access the App's servers other than through the App, overload them, probe them for weaknesses, or interfere with other users;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the App, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
If you break these rules we may refuse or stop a video, or suspend or end your access (section 18).
14. Our rights
The App, its software and its name belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App under these Terms while you have access to it.
15. The App is provided as is
To the extent the law allows, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not promise that the App will be uninterrupted, error free or available at any particular time, or that every video can be processed. We may change, add or remove features. If you are a consumer, this section does not affect your statutory rights, for example that digital content and services must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, and provided with reasonable care and skill.
16. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the App and these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and USD 50.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill, and the limits above apply only as far as the law where you live allows.
17. Indemnity
If you use the App for business, you will indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, that arise from the videos you process or from your breach of these Terms. If you are a consumer, you are responsible for such losses only to the extent the law provides.
18. Suspension and ending
- You can stop using the App at any time, and cancel or delete your data as described above.
- We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the App or other users. Where reasonable we will tell you first.
- We may stop offering the App. If we do, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance where we can, and paid plans will not renew after that date.
- Sections that by their nature should continue after the end (such as 12, 15, 16, 17 and 21) continue to apply.
19. Canva, Stripe and Link
The App is an independent app for Canva. Canva is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App, its plans or your payments. Canva is a trademark of Canva Pty Ltd; the App is not made, sponsored or endorsed by Canva. Stripe and Link provide the payment services under their own terms. We are not responsible for services provided by Canva, Stripe or Link.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when the App, the law or our payment providers change. We will change the date at the top. If a change materially affects paid subscribers, we will tell you in the App or by email at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then. If you keep using the App after a change applies, the new Terms apply to you.
21. Governing law and disputes
If you have a problem, please write to us first at videospeeder@obliquex.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
22. General
If a court finds part of these Terms invalid, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer this agreement to another company that takes over the App; your rights under these Terms will not be reduced as a result. You may not transfer this agreement. These Terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the App.
