Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

The video you select is kept only while it is sped up and handed back to Canva. To run your plan we keep your Canva user and team IDs, your plan and your usage. Card details never reach us. You can delete your data from the panel at any time.

1. Who is responsible

This policy covers Video Speeder (the "App"), an app for Canva, and the Video Speeder pages on obliquex.com. Video Speeder is provided by Cloudit Software Solutions Ltd (company no. 15617138, 67 Knightly Avenue, Cambridge, CB2 0AN, United Kingdom), trading as ObliqueX ("ObliqueX", "we", "us"). We are the controller of your personal data. Contact: videospeeder@obliquex.com.

Canva is not responsible for the App or for how we handle your data. Canva's own handling of your data is described in Canva's privacy policy.

2. What we process, why, and for how long

Data Why Legal basis Kept until
Canva user ID and team ID To recognize you and link your plan and usage to you Contract You delete your data. If you remove the App, the link to your Canva account is removed (paid plans: when the subscription ends) and the rest of the record is deleted 12 months later
Plan, subscription status, billing period dates, extra video balance To provide your plan Contract As above
Usage counts (successful and failed videos) To apply your monthly allowance and limit misuse Contract; legitimate interest in preventing misuse 6 months, or earlier if you delete your data
Video job records: speed, quality, direction, status, size and length of the result, Canva references to the videos To process the video, to pick up a job after the panel was closed, and to tell you when a video was already sped up Contract; legitimate interest for the "already sped up" hint 90 days, or earlier if you delete your data
The video you select To speed it up Contract Only while it is processed
The sped up video To hand it back to Canva Contract Deleted as soon as it is added to your design, at most 60 minutes
Email address of a paying customer (received from Stripe), Stripe customer and subscription IDs To link your payment to your plan and to contact you about your subscription Contract You delete your data. If you remove the App, the email address is deleted when the link to your Canva account is removed, and the IDs 12 months later
Extra video purchases (number of packs, amount) To add the videos to your balance, and for our accounts Contract; legal obligation You delete your data, or 12 months after the link to your Canva account is removed
An irreversible digest of your Canva user and team IDs, with that month's usage counts So that deleting your data or reinstalling does not reset the Free allowance Legitimate interest in preventing misuse The end of that calendar month
Feedback you send: message, topic, and the panel's context (plan, panel version, platform, last error) To fix problems and improve the App Legitimate interest 12 months after we close the feedback, or earlier if you delete your data
Email address you add to feedback (optional) Only to reply to that message; never for marketing Consent (you choose to add it) Together with the feedback
Server logs (internal IDs and error codes) To run and secure the service Legitimate interest 7 days

We also record anonymous technical figures such as codec, resolution and processing time. They are not linked to you, are not personal data, and are kept without a time limit.

"Contract" means the processing is needed to provide the App you asked for. Where we rely on legitimate interest, you can object (section 9).

3. Your video

4. Payments

Paid plans and extra videos are paid through Stripe's Managed Payments service, and Link (Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe company) is the merchant of record. Your card and payment details are entered on Stripe's pages and stay with Stripe and Link; we never receive or store them. Stripe and Link handle the transaction data under the Stripe Privacy Policy, send your receipts and invoices, and keep payment and tax records for as long as the law requires. A Link account may be needed for a subscription.

From Stripe we receive your email address, the Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the plan you bought, the status and dates of your subscription, and the number of extra video packs you bought. We use them to give you the right plan and to contact you about your subscription.

5. Preventing misuse of the Free plan

When you delete your data or remove the App, we keep, until the end of that calendar month, an irreversible keyed digest of your Canva user and team IDs together with that month's usage counts. If the same Canva account comes back in the same month, the Free allowance continues from where it was instead of starting again. The digest cannot be turned back into your IDs. It is deleted when the month ends. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the Free plan from being misused.

6. Feedback

If you use Report a problem, we keep your message and topic with some context from the panel. If you add an email address, we use it only to reply to that message. We never use it for marketing, and the message and email address are never written to our logs.

7. What we do not do

8. Service providers and transfers

We use these providers to run the App:

Canva gives the App your Canva user and team IDs when you open it. We are based in the United Kingdom, and your data is processed in the United States and Switzerland. Switzerland is recognized by the European Commission and the United Kingdom as giving adequate protection. For transfers to the United States we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses (and, where applicable, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) included in our providers' data processing agreements.

9. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR or the UK GDPR gives you the right to access your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict its use, to receive it in a portable form, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access it, to have it corrected or deleted, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined in California law, and we do not use sensitive personal information.

To use any of these rights, write to videospeeder@obliquex.com. We may need to confirm that the request comes from the Canva account it concerns. We answer within one month.

10. Deleting your data

In the App, choose Delete my Video Speeder data. This deletes your plan, usage, job records, extra videos and their purchase records, and your feedback, right away. If you have an active subscription, it ends immediately, without a refund for the rest of the period (see the Terms). Only the monthly digest in section 5 remains until the end of the month, and payment and invoice records remain with Stripe and Link as the law requires.

Removing the App from Canva also removes the link to your Canva account: at once on the Free plan, and when the subscription ends on a paid plan. You can also ask us by email.

11. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit. Only our server can access the database. Every request from the App carries a token signed by Canva, and you can only see your own jobs and plan.

12. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Buying a plan requires the legal capacity to enter into a contract where you live, or a parent's or guardian's permission.

13. Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data we already hold, we will tell you in the App before it applies.
